Kaiser Permanente has a long history of redefining American healthcare and its latest innovation was to create a brand new medical school that leveraged the provider network’s experience and national reach. Headquartered in Pasadena, California, Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine combines the very best of traditional and cutting-edge learning, supported by emerging technologies; a progressive mission based on equity, inclusion, and diversity; and waived tuition for its first five classes.
To support this launch, the School turned to EY’s Portland Design Studio to create a website that would convey institutional credibility, scholastic rigor, and a fresh take on medical education.
Over the course of a six-month engagement, I worked closely with the primary stakeholders and department heads to craft site-wide copy that reflected the mission and values of the School, while weaving credibility and authenticity into every touch point.
This process included sprint-based reviews, a content matrix to centralize copy for the site’s many pages, and tight-knit collaboration with UX and visual designers.
